MADCAPPED MYSTERIES, The most original murder mystery experience EVER!

Our top selling show is a huge hit with tweens and teens, and a few younger crowds. Folks love the price point and versatility. While we regularly present Madcapped Mysteries at corporate events, adult birthday parties, and even 55+ communities, the kids are better. Their imaginations fire up the most original stories. We need to publish a book sharing these gems.

• Locust Valley Library 2025: Murder Weapon was an Orca (Killer Whale) catapulted with pin post precision, FROM THE COUNTRY OF TURKEY, hitting it’s Long Island New York victim.
• The Bryant Library 2024: One teen mentioned their character’s grandmother. Next teen was named GRANDMA, who claimed she died 2 days ago. To which our detective replied in full flabbergasted, “YOU’RE A GHOST!”

CLUE PARTY: MURDER AT THE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL

This show was written for a 2025 Bat Mitzvah. Every character plays an actor in the show AND at character at the faire. So this show within a show within a show creates a number of fun layers of play.

A CLUE PARTY is basically any murder mystery event where there is a single professional actor and some or all the guests at the party are playing characters.

MADCAPPED MYSTERIES is basically an unscripted clue party, completely improvised. Most clue parties involve each player getting a script or bio for their character. The game requires collecting story from each characters and a set of clues.

For our clue parties, guest receive a mock invitation upon arrival, addressed to their character. “WELCOME…”. On the back is a set of instructions on how to play the game. When they open, they find their character bio. We write them in the first person, so folks uncomfortable with improv can literally read right from the script. Each also is armed with 3 clues, eaxh about a different character in the story. Line up all the clues and they lead to the guilty suspect. BUT beware of incredibly convincing red herrings.

WHO KILLED HUGH GETSME? The Great Gatzby Parody Clue Party

This show was writted for a sweet 16 party. The birthday girl was obsessed with the famous Fitzgerald novel. We changed the names, but barely. Characters have similar motivations. Instead of East Egg mansion, much of the story takes place aboard East Egg Cruise Lines. Instead of the pool, Hugh Getzme is found floating in a dingy. And we changed the ending so IT COULD BE ANYONE!!!

CAT’S MEOW: The 1920s Speakeasy Clue Party

Our top selling clue party script, and dinner theater party scream, PEOPLE LOVE THE ROARING 20s. Gangsters, Jazz musicians and singer, high society and politicians all crowd into The Cats Meow, your towns worst kept secret during the era of prohibition.

GOTHIC GARDER SOIREE: The NOT So Gilded Age Clue Party

Self touted as our best script, this show combines elements of The House of Usher, with a Romeo and Juliet leaning engagement party between rival families. It’s ten years after Edison turned the lights on in New York City. These families made their millions whale oil lamps and bees wax candles. Both are crumbling like the old buildings hiding beneath the tapestries and gardens. Fans of the elite collapsing under melodrama and soap opera LOVE this show.

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER SHOWS

Do you imagine an event with more professio al character actors populating the venue? What we call our FULL SHOW, features a cast of four or more professional actors mingling with guests before dinner, dropping story and clues. At some point we stage a death. Our lead detective deputizes the crowd into teams. Each team interogates the suspects, collaborates, deliberate and attempts to solve the crime.

We have been hosting professional public and private shows in Times Square NYC since 2002. Our current New York home base, the Broadway Comedy Club, is tough to book after 5pm daily BUT we have the best rates in town during the morning and afternoon times. We daily host student groups and corporate teams from around the world. The club offers little in the way of perks. BUT for student groups and affordable birthday parties, it’s the best bang for the buck in midtown Manhattan.
