Madcapped Mysteries is the most original murder mystery show EVER!

Our immersive murder mystery experiences get the entire crowd into the show. Our detective leads the action. Watch friend and colleagues become suspects and witness to a crime. Everyone is deputized to help solve the crime.

Folks love the price point. The show is perfect for smaller venues and crowds. There is little to no set up required. Just tables and chairs. Get some pizza and soft drinks (or not). Every show leads to 2-3 more bookings. The entire show runs 75 minutes. Attendees say, I HAVE TO HAVE THIS AT MY NEXT EVENT!

Imagine a murder mystery without a script. Sounds crazy, no?

Only our top comedic actors run these shows. The vibe for the first 30-40 minutes is that of a Vegas Mentalist show.

The Prologue

The first 3 minutes resembles the improv game, CALL EMS, aka Human Mad Libs. The entire crowd helps establish the crime. The detective points to various guests to “fill in the blanks”. We establish the victim’s name and occupation, the location of the murder, the means of their demise and more.

The Story

The detective then introduces and interogates witnesses and suspects. How? They literally point at one guest at a time and say,

“What’s your name? Great, I hear you are….”

Then, one by one, many, if not all the guests (depending on crowd size) become a character in the story. You might be family or friend to the victim. You could be the mayor. The dean of the school. You might become a boss, employee, teacher or student. Perhaps you are an old flames. We might meet the parents. For larger groups, we might meet some experts: the coroner, forensic psychologist, CSI’s finest.

The Interrogations

After about 30-40 minutes, the detective identifies their panel primary usual suspects. The rest of the crowd is divided into teams of detectives, often by table. Each team has a few minutes to further interogate each suspect.

Then each team collaborates to “solve” the crime. For most murder mystery shows this involves naming the WHO, WHERE, WHAT of the crime.

“Professor Plum used a candlestick on the library.” (BORING!!!)

For Madcapped Mysteries we get the most original creative solutions, because their truly is no wrong answer.

The Reveal

In many ways this part of the show is more like CLUE THE MOVIE than any traditional CLUE PARTY. Because we now get a number of possible solutions to the crime.

The detective reads many, or all, of the reveals (again, depending on the event size and timing). One team is selected as THE WINNER. We usually also award BEST ACTOR and BEST COSTUME. The show ends with their Oscar Winning Speeches.

With over 30 years of experience in theater, comedy, and television, Walt Frasier is the Artistic Director of Improv Theater LLC, a leading edutainment center known for its high-impact comedy shows and workshops. His extensive career includes performing comedy sketches on MTV’s Stankervision, Late Nite with David Letterman, TruTV’s Friends of the People, and HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay. As an actor, Walt has appeared on NBC’s Blacklist, CBS’s Blue Bloods, USA’s Royal Pains, Netflix’s Lilyhammer, and NICK’s Naked Brothers Band, in addition to numerous commercials, industrials, and live performances worldwide.
